where dreams begin

April 11, 2014

it’s hard to look back and try to determine just where dreams begin,

but i’m thinking that a certain someone‘s dream began

right about here:

as with most dreams,

there was a winding path between the inception of the dream

and its full manifestation.

i think it’s safe to say that this dream has manifested

in a glorious way!

that little baby has her hands full of dreams now,

and, actually, so does her mama!

it’s amazing what some running llamas and a few sheep can do

to keep horses alert for picture-taking!

by the way, these two share a birthday tomorrow, april 12.

caoinlean will be four, and will start under saddle this spring.

and sara?

she’s jack benny’s age now!

(hee hee.)

happy birthday, you two!!

    Hi Janet,

Please give Sara and Caoilean a big hug from us along with our best birthday wishes!

Caoilean looks so much like his daddy – if he’s as laid back as Leannan, he should be easy to start under saddle, and hopefully, will have Leannan’s soft mouth as well.

I’m jealous about how good your arena/turn-out is looking – I’ll bet all your boys and girls are constantly lobbying to get turned out on the new grass! Our pastures are still pretty dry and brown, so our girls are just getting a few hours here and there. If they would keep their big feet out of the rose beds, I’d just shut the front gates and let ’em roam for a while. Maybe we’ll get some sloppy wet snow with this next storm to green up the pastures!

    All the best,

your birthday greetings were duly passed along! sara and i spent the day picking up the bits and pieces of a new bridle for caoinlean– a beautiful headstall, snaffle bit, mecate reins and tooled slobber straps! we tried it on him last night and took him for a little walk– needless to say there will be more horse photos coming soon!
as for the snow…. pbbbt. it was blizzard-like late this afternoon and feeding was not exactly fun. now that i’m back to feeding on weekday mornings i can honestly say that i am not looking forward to the sheet of ice i will face in the morning! let’s hope this equates to greener grasses and spring flowers! btw, this year we didn’t take the tank heaters out prematurely, we just unplugged them so it was easy to plug them back in last night!
