happy holidays from the herd
for days the herd has been begging for an opportunity
to send you their best holiday wishes.
they are such a social bunch that i could hardly say no
to such a thoughtful request.
yesterday the weather was delightful, so sara and i went out
and gave each one a bit of individual attention
and a private photo shoot.
a heartfelt happy holiday season to you all,
from:

an angelic looking bunch, aren’t they?
actually, they truly are a sweet and loving bunch
that enrich our lives every single day.
we love them dearly.
however, as their senior human guardian
i’d like to share a few of the out takes from our photo sessions…
we function best with an appreciation for HUMOUR
here on the “fuzzy slippers farm“!
after taking well over a hundred photos
it was inevitable that some wouldn’t quite,
ahem… make the cut!
the herd selected these:
cormac: “ok, remind me one more time what you want me to do…”
meadbh: “hey, is this stuff edible????”
caoinlean: “i just do what i’m told and don’t waste their time with bad photos.”
si gaoithe: “you mean i don’t get to keep it????”
roisin: “seriously?? we’re doing this again??”
sunny: “omg omg omg!! what is that??!!”
tireachan: “actually, what they’re doing over there looks far more interesting…”
and just in case you think dolling these critters up following a light snow
might be an easy task…
think again!!
our horses, as much as we love them,
get to be horses.

and finally,
we decided to let the little ones help to un-trim the tree:
awwww…
nothing like little ones seeing their first christmas tree, right?
hmmm…
oopsie.
oh, what fun we had trying to do all of this
with loose horses and donkeys!!
and this photo on the bottom?
last one– that’s where cormac munched a bulb
and the string of lights went out!!

and so, from rose and all the rest of us here,
happy holidays
and peace to you all,
friends.
xoxo
p.s. if you are interested in the irish cob breed (aka gypsy vanners) and would like to know more about them
or perhaps acquire one of your own, please check out Parnell’s Irish Cobs.
we’ve done our best to clean out their stock but there will be more where these came from!!
ho ho ho!!!!
Glorious holiday wishes to you and yours. May it be full of joy, laughter and love.
thank you, brandi– it is!! i treasure your presence here and elsewhere in my life. i wish for you plenty of snow and time outdoors accompanied by rest and relaxation indoors for a treasure of happy memories to last a lifetime.

xo times nine from your hooved friends in colorado
The fun and laughs you must have had doing this! The “cards” are so well done and it’s great see each animal (I didn’t realize you had 7 horses plus the 2 donkeys) as well as the out-takes and the beauty before and after! I’d like to know how to pronounce each of your horses names – If you’ve done a post on this before, link me to it, please! I’m guessing they are Celtic names – and as beautiful as the horses. Happy holidays Janet and tribe!
i’m so glad that you enjoyed these! yes, fun and laughter in abundance throughout the two hours that we played camera games! they were all amazingly well-behaved, given that we haven’t had a lot of hands-on time with them due to the cold and my being gone. they actually seemed to enjoy it, so much so that they kept lining up for another turn! and no, I haven’t done a post with name pronunciation but it’s a good idea and I think I will! happy, happy holidays to you!
Hi Janet, Merry Christmas from our herd to yours!! They all look great, and the “babies” are looking so grown up now. Initially I was thinking that you put my Christmas picture-taking to shame, but then I saw the out-takes (LOL!!) Like the first time I put Nuala to the flat-cart loaded with presents for the Christmas picture – the drivers in the crowd were quick to notice that the traces were slack because she was “press-fit” into the shafts! Wishing you peace, joy and continued healing in the coming year. Say “Hi” to the rest of the tribe from Jan and me.
oh, gosh, charlie– we thought of you and jan throughout this photo shoot! the horses were great and i think they had as much fun as we did! we just couldn’t love them more. let’s get together sometime soon– until then, happy happy holidays to you, jan, and the herd!!
