a cause for celebration– welcome céilidh!

October 15, 2012

in modern usage, a céilidh or ceilidh /ˈklɪ/ is a traditional Gaelic social gathering,

which usually involves playing Gaelic folk music and dancing.

and this is the name given to the newest arrival up at the irish rose farm,

a gorgeous blue and white filly born to lizzie and leannan

outside in the colorado sunshine at about 9:30 this morning.

pretty fitting, given that the fine folks up there

are doing a jig over the good news.

that was obvious from the first voicemail left on my phone,

and grew exponentially with each photo that followed!

seriously…

does this not make you want to dance, too?!

this little doll is a beauty:

fine, feminine head, short back, beautiful markings…

and just look at that perfect little tail!

*swoon*

and this sweet face?

gosh, reminds me so much of a similar photo of sister meadbh

that we took the night she was born.

looks like we’ll be making the drive up to wellington in the very near future.

i’d encourage you to do the same,

as charlie and jan would love to introduce you to their friendly herd,

and show off this eye-catching new addition!

the link to their parnell’s website is in the sidebar.

come on…

the weather is fine and an opportunity like this doesn’t come along every day.

maybe we’ll see you there!

life is good.

and keeps getting better and better!
