good morning, starshine!

October 12, 2011

i went walking through my neighborhood this morning with a gladsome heart.

i smiled as the crossing guard stopped the slow-moving traffic to let children on foot,

bikes, and scooters navigate the intersection on their way to school.

farther down the street i grinned at a mother/daughter team

galloping down the sidewalk attempting to make it before the bell.

getting out and about early in the day makes me love people even more.

my senses are heightened and i feel an openness and appreciation

for what is at arm’s reach to me every single day

but that i often fail to notice with my busyness.

it makes me happy to pass someone on the street and exchange

smiling “good mornings”.

my day is made better for it.

they say beauty is in the details,

and i believe that to be true.

join me in noticing the little things that brightened this day:

nothing like a good flower bed, right?

oh, the crisp, clear mornings of october are a delight to behold.

coming home i realized that the starshine had followed me right inside,

and was spilling lavishly through my kitchen window.

i think i’m having a growth spurt.

i feel like my heart has expanded two sizes recently.

life is good.

LOVE the red bed, and the grapes.
We used to have a fantastic grape vine in our downtown house. I remember going out back with crazy dog and eating them off the vine. Yum! It’s one of the few things I miss about that hosue. That and the dent in the stairway where Sara cracked her noggin one day. Oh, memories…
