au revoir, normandie

we spent a quiet and restful week in the gorgeous french countryside of normandy, where the colors are intense and saturated and the air is drenched in birdsong. the rolling landscape gently flows from wheat fields studded with bright orange poppies into small, shadowy patches of deep green forest, all under a canopy of brilliant blue sky occasionally sprinkled with puffy, white clouds.

normandy is one of my favorite places, rich in history, natural beauty, friendly people, and visual art. more on that later…
