attitude adjusters

February 21, 2011

sometimes, all it takes to have a really great day is to look at things with a different perspective.  here are some of the little ways that i take a step back and recognize how rich life truly is.

get up early enough to grab a front row seat for a radiant sunrise.

bake something delicious (in this case, sourdough banana walnut bread) and set up a little table for myrself by the window to enjoy it.

remember to notice the reflections in my coffee.

always have a stack of good reads close by .

celebrate the beauty of nature year round…

especially lasting forms that allow them to linger longer.

never underestimate the value of small details.  (

take myself on a little creative outing just for fun.

refurbish something old and make it new again.

(better yet, have a daughter who does it for me for christmas.  thank you, sassy sara!)

have nothing in your household that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.  william morris

both is even better, and cluster them out in open spaces so that i can always enjoy them!

always have a creative project in the works.

better yet, have lots of them.  (note to self–   remember to take advantage of small increments of time to pursue your creative ideas.  little things quickly add up to big things.)

start small, and live big.

    1. That breakfast shot took my breath away.
    2. Isn’t that mushroom the most delicate delight? It’s vintage, spun cotton…
    3. The refurb is totally spectacular.
    4. LOVE this post, dearly.

All of these are lovely, but those last two photos are particularly exciting! Those books look wonderful. =)
