ten things that made me happy this weekend

January 31, 2011

greetings from sunday night.  focusing on and being grateful for the good things that surround me makes my life so much richer.  this is a sampling of the past few days:

dogs lounging lazily in a sunbeam

sunlight filtering through lace and colored glass in the kitchen window

sourdough waffles with fresh blueberries

the temperature on the back deck at midday on Friday

the blue heron who lives at the pond behind the stables  (squint.  or click.  he’s there.  it’s hard to capture  sudden flight when on horseback.)

happy hour margaritas at chipotle

orchids blooming in my bathroom

a new saddle for comfortable outdoor seating

leaves positively glowing in late afternoon sunlight

a spontaneous family dinner gathering on sunday night (thank you sara!)

what put a smile on your face this weekend?

have a splendid week, all of you!

Quitting Facebook this weekend put a HUGE smile on my face, but you already know that. I did a lot of writing, just for me, and letters to friends…..just pen on paper made me so happy. There wasn’t a glow of a computer screen and it was peaceful and wintery.

Every time I see an image of that horse, something breaks and then blooms in my heart. RW told me, last week, that he thinks I can have a horse in three years….that’s something to hope for, isn’t it?

    xx

One of the many things that made me happy today: a lovel chat with my mother. How I adore my mother! I am a better person because of her. :o)

What exactly IS a “lovel” chat, you may wonder? It is the kind of chat that was cut a bit short because we both had other things to take care of. Otherwise it would have been full on LOVELY!
